OneDrive Home View Redesign Rolling Out to All Users

Microsoft is rolling out a redesigned OneDrive Home view that surfaces recently accessed files, shared content, and AI-powered file recommendations in a cleaner, card-based layout.

Microsoft is rolling out a redesigned Home view for OneDrive across web and desktop. The new layout introduces a card-based design with sections for recently accessed files, files shared with you, and Copilot-powered file recommendations based on your work patterns.

Rolling out to all users through the end of March 2026.

What's Changing

  • Card-Based File Layout
  • Copilot-Powered File Recommendations
  • Improved Shared With Me View

The rollout is gradual — users will see the new Home view automatically with no action required.

Our Take

This is the right call, but Microsoft is underselling how disruptive it'll be. Users have built years of muscle memory around that Chat / Teams split — expect a wave of support tickets the week it lands. Get ahead of it with a quick communication to your users before it shows up, not after.

Bottom Line
Good change, bad rollout timing for unprepared orgs. Send a user comm now.
