Microsoft Purview Adds Data Security Posture Management Dashboard

Microsoft Purview now includes a Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) dashboard that gives admins a unified view of sensitive data risks across Microsoft 365 workloads.

Microsoft Purview has launched a new Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) dashboard. The dashboard gives security admins a consolidated view of where sensitive data lives, who has access to it, and what risk signals are present — across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange.

DSPM is rolling out to all Purview customers with an E5 Compliance license.

DSPM Dashboard Highlights

  • Unified Sensitive Data Risk View
  • Cross-Workload Coverage
  • Recommended Remediation Actions

Access the DSPM dashboard via Microsoft Purview compliance portal > Data Security Posture Management.

Our Take

This is the right call, but Microsoft is underselling how disruptive it'll be. Users have built years of muscle memory around that Chat / Teams split — expect a wave of support tickets the week it lands. Get ahead of it with a quick communication to your users before it shows up, not after.

Bottom Line
Good change, bad rollout timing for unprepared orgs. Send a user comm now.
